Devil May Cry 5 Switch might be considered if the upcoming Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for Nintendo’s hybrid platform sells well enough.
That’s what Capcom’s Hideaki Itsuno, game director on the Devil May Cry series, said during a recent interview with German gaming magazine M! Games (issue 306). In the interview, Itsuno and producer Matt Walker talked about the development on Devil May Cry 5.
When asked why the game, aside from a release on both PS4 and Xbox One, is being released on PC but not on the Switch, Itsuno explained that when they began development on DMC5, they didn’t have access to a Switch development kit. Luckily, if the Dark Arisen Switch port sell well enough, Capcom might consider porting Devil May Cry 5 to the Switch as well.
“We started the development of "DMC 5", while we didn't have the Dev-kits of the Switch”, the game director told M! Games. “Because of that we concentrated on the Ps4, Xbox One and Pc-Version. But if “Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" sells well on Switch, then we might consider porting “DMC 5".
While this isn’t a confirmation that DMC5 will be released on the Switch in the future, the pair recently expressed that they would love to play a Devil May Cry title on Nintendo’s latest platform.
Devil May Cry 5 is available now.
