In the latest issue of Famitsu, Capcom announced a new cel-shaded 3D action game called Crimson Tears. The game has been announced as a collaborative project, with Capcom publishing, Dream Factory developing, and Spike marketing the title.
Crimson Tears takes place in Tokyo--50 years from now--where a biotechnology company named Weponix secretively controls the world as an underground manufacturer of war machines. The main three characters that fight Weponix are humanoid biological weapons called mutanoids. The mutanoids are Tokio, a 24-year-old male who is skilled at distant attacks; Asuka, a 19-year-old female skilled at close-up attacks; and Kaede, a 16-year-old female who specializes in strong attacks.
Crimson Tears consists of randomly generated dungeons. In the beginning of each dungeon, the player is situated in a base where characters and equipment can be chosen. Once in the dungeon, the player must fight enemies, find items, beat the middle boss, and then return back to the base.
Crimson Tears is currently 30 percent complete and is scheduled for display at the upcoming E3.
