Capcom adding 1,000 jobs by 2023-October 2024
Oct 20, 2024 11:28 PM

Capcom plans to add 1,000 jobs over the next decade. The Japanese publisher said during a recent question and answer session that the company's current total developer headcount stands at 1,500, with an aim for 2,500 by 2023.

Capcom is seeking out more developers in an effort to bolster the quality of its games through developing more titles in-house as opposed to via a third-party.

"The purpose of increasing our game developer team is to create a larger percentage of our games internally," the statement reads. "Therefore, we believe that there will be no significant change in total development expenditures mainly because we will be shifting outsourced operations to our own workforce."

The jobs will be created in Capcom's Home Video Content group, as well as its Mobile Contents and PC Online Game sectors.

Capcom's latest financial quarter ended September 30 saw profits rise a healthy 355 percent to $51.3 million on $570 million in net revenue.
