An initial 10 companies will be chosen early next year to share in a nearly $2 million kitty being managed by the Canadian government. Reuters is reporting that Montreal-based Telefilm, a company with roots in film financing, has invited Canadian game makers to compete for the funding through what it is calling the Great Canadian Video Game Competition. "With the input and support of industry, this competition will give independent firms the leverage to attract required financing and distribution opportunities for its intellectual property," Telefilm executive director Wayne Clarkson told Reuters.
