Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One X console will run Call of Duty WWII in 4K Ultra HD with HDR.
That’s what the updated listing from UK retailer GAME revealed on the game’s box art. Due to the marketing deal with Sony, Activision has been rather silent about Xbox One X enhancements but based on the updated game packaging, the game will support 4K Ultra HD resolution with High Dynamic Range (HDR) on Microsoft’s enhanced Xbox One console.
Interestingly, Microsoft updated its list of Xbox One X Enhanced titles yesterday, but Call of Duty WWII still hasn't been listed as an enhanced title.
It’s unsure whether the 4K Ultra HD logo means that the game will render in native 4K on Microsoft’s upcoming console, but our guess is that the game will use dynamic resolution scaling to 4K using checkerboarding.
Both Call of Duty WWII and the Xbox One X are slated for a release in November: Activision’s upcoming new CoD installment will be released on November 3th, while the Xbox One X will release globally on November 7th.
