GameSpot reached out to Activision for a statement and received the following:
"Until confirmed, most online stores simply list placeholder or estimated launch dates. We couldn’t be more excited about bringing Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile to gamers around the world and while we are still in our Limited Release phase, development is on track and we expect to release globally later this year."
While Activision's statement does not confirm any specific timing, it does clarify that game is set to release in 2023 and development is proceeding as expected.
In response to reports that CoD Mobile would be phased out in favor of Warzone Mobile, Activision asserted that the game will be supported "for the long haul." In other Call of Duty news, some fans are frustrated with a paid bundle in Call of Duty: Warzone 2, which they claim is "pay-to-win."
