Update: The beta has now concluded, having run across all platforms and giving players access to a variety of competitive multiplayer modes. The next opportunity to play the game before its official launch will be the early access campaign, which will be a preorder bonus on all platforms. Infinity Ward says it will be making changes based on feedback it received to implement in the full game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out in October, but if you're not sure if you want to get it yet, you can try the multiplayer mode out ahead of time. The multiplayer beta is currently running for all preorder players as well as everyone on PlayStation, and starting September 24, it will be available to everyone, regardless of their preorder status. Anyone interested will be able to try out the game ahead of its launch date.
