Call of Duty 2024 Likely Set in Gulf War As Actor Says He Will be Portraying ‘Ratcliffe’-November 2024
Nov 19, 2024 10:40 PM

Treyarch's Call of Duty 2024 is likely to focus on the Gulf War as American actor 'Luke Charles Stafford' has now said that he will be portraying a character named 'Ratcliffe'.

As picked up by Insider Gaming, Stafford took to Facebook some days ago to share that the main character in Activision's Call of Duty will be played by him. In his post, the American actor mentions Activision's "next" main character as well as "next year". Included with the post are several images and a short video of the actor in, what looks like to be, a mocap studio.

"Activision decided to adapt their next main character "Ratcliffe" for Call of Duty off of my face/likeness, and I am elated", the actor writes. "To all of my college roommates back at Anderson University and those years in Smith Hall playing Black Ops II...Next year, we can beat the snot out of each other again, but I want ti play as me."

We've included a screenshot of Stafford's Facebook post below.

'Ratcliffe' likely refers to Major Peter Ratcliffe - a former British soldier who served in the British Army between 1970 and 1997, and was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for gallantry in action during the Gulf War.

Last year, we already reported that Treyarch's 2024 Call of Duty is likely focusing on the Gulf War, and the war on terror. As reported by Insider Gaming last year as well, Call of Duty 2024, which is said to be codenamed 'Cerberus' could also release on past-gen consoles (Xbox One, PlayStation 4). If true, this means that next year's Call of Duty will once again be a cross-platform title.

We'll update you as soon as more information about this matter comes in. What are your thoughts about this 'leak'? Would you be interested in a Gulf War-themed Call of Duty next year? Hit the comments below.
