Bungie Software recently announced the development of yet another game based in part on the Japanese anime culture, a third-person 3D action game called Oni.
Oni will feature an urban-based 3D landscape that Bungie claims will be fully interactive. Character control will feature hand-to-hand combat in a detailed scale rarely seen in third-person action games, and the game of course will make heavy use of Japanese anime.
Bungie likens the game and its immersive world as a cross between "Le Femme Nikita, Ghost in the Shell, and Fists of Fury." While the game isn't set for release until 1999 for both Windows and Mac platforms, we have some initial development screenshots and conceptual art to pacify the gamer, for now.
