Players will be able to play as the iconic Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th The Game next month on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

　　Initially slated for a release last fall, the horror game based on the horror movies was delayed to more requested features to the game. Gun Media and IllFonic have now announced that the title will release next month on May 26 digitally. A retailer version of the game will be released later on.

　　When it releases next month, Friday the 13th will be a multiplayer-only game, but IllFonic is working is planning to release a single-player mode this summer as well.

Cunningham, creator of the  Friday the 13th franchise upon the game’s announcement back in October of 2015. “Technology has finally reached a level that allows us to produce an experience fans of the franchise deserve. It’s always been a dream of mine to let players fully BECOME Jason, and stalk camp counselors across a virtual Crystal Lake. I’m delighted we’re able to bring this fantasy to life!“

　　On consoles, Gun Media and IllFonic are currently targeting 30 frames per second, while the PC version will have a higher, uncapped framerate.
