2K Games and Gearbox Software recently announced that its upcoming Borderlands 2 DLC featuring a fifth playable class is out earlier than expected.
Get comfy with a death-dealing robot for a pal in this already-out DLC. The Mechromancer DLC will be available for download right now on October 9 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions of the game. Further clarification was provided by Gearbox Studio president Randy Pitchford on Twitter. Gamers who did not pre-order the game will have to fork out $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points for it.
The DLC will allow players to use Gaige the Mechromancer who has the ability to summon a giant robot called Deathtrap to assist her. Her upgrade paths are focused on afflicting status effects, powering up her Anarchy skill, and giving support and buffs to less-skilled players around her. Players can check out the character's skill tree on the game's official site.
The DLC was initially planned for an October 16 release. For more information, check out GameSpot's review and video feature on the game.
