Blockchain Gaming Alliance Founded; Includes the Likes of Ubisoft and Fig-December 2024

  During this week's Blockchain Game Summit in Lyon, France, several companies have joined to found the Blockchain Gaming Alliance. These include major players in the industry such as game publishers Ubisoft and Fig as well as blockchain based game publishing platform Ultra, EverdreamSoft (the studio behind the first blockchain game, Spells of Genesis), Alto (a company that develops tools to integrate blockchain features into games), Gimli (creator of the first blockchain based wagering solution for eSports), Enjin (the renown website platform for gamers, which recently launched the Enjin Coin cryptocurrency for games), B2Expand (a self-defined blockchain game studio), and ConsenSys (a blockchain studio that builds decentralized applications based on Ethereum).

  The official website, where anyone can register to receive newsletters from the Blockchain Gaming Alliance, includes the following statement:

  Convinced that this breakthrough technology brings numerous new benefits to the whole ecosystem, from developers to players, we provide an open forum for all stakeholders to share knowledge and collaborate on research that foster new ways to create and play games. Our ultimate goal is to help spread the integration of Blockchain by developing common standards and best practices.

  Nicolas Gilot, CEO of blockchain based game publishing platform Ultra, said:

  The Blockchain Game Alliance is advocating for a universal standard in the blockchain gaming space to create a more interoperable and transparent ecosystem, which will benefit stakeholders, by furthering innovation and ensuring economic viability.

  Dan Biton, co-founder of Gimli, stated:

  Alliance members will have access to extraordinary businesses with some of the brightest minds, in order to improve collaboration and disrupt the status quo, so the industry can best serve the 2.2 billion active gamers worldwide.

  Nicolas Gilot added:

  While the alliance is still in its early stages, we are ambitious in our future plans and look forward to welcoming new members and unlocking the power of blockchain technology for the gaming community.
