Black Panther 2's Letitia Wright Hospitalized With Minor Injuries After Stunt Accident-November 2024
Nov 8, 2024 2:39 AM

Actor Letitia Wright has been hospitalized with minor injuries following a stunt rig accident on the Boston set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, according to Variety. A spokesperson for Marvel told the publication that Wright is "currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon."

In the first Black Panther movie, Wright was introduced as Shuri, the genius inventor and younger sister to T'Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman. She also appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgames.

Production on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever began in late June. Like its predecessor, the new Black Panther movie is written and directed by Ryan Coogler. Many members of the first film's cast are expected to return, although the whole cast has not yet been disclosed. What we definitely know is that the movie will not shy away from Boseman's absence--though it's still unclear how this new entry in the franchise will work without him. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige announced that Boseman's role of T'Challa wouldn't be recast.

It was previously reported that Danai Gurira will be back as Okoye, while Lupita Nyong'o released this lighthearted video that seemed to confirm her return as Nakia. In addition, Martin Freeman recently stated that he will reprise the character of CIA agent Everett K. Ross.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is expected to have a July 2022 release.
