GameSpot once again spoke with Black Cactus today. The company reiterated that it has serious intentions to develop for the Xbox. Its first Xbox game is thought to be the PC-based medieval strategy Warrior Kings. Interestingly enough, potential publishers - no publisher has signed Warrior Kings as of yet - are interested in bringing the title to the Sony PlayStation 2 as well.

　　"We're hoping to port Warrior Kings to Xbox and PS2 because we know those platforms can handle our technology," said Jamie Thomson, chairman and creative director of Black Cactus. Mr. Thomson could not elaborate further on specific PS2 development.

　　Black Cactus admires Microsoft's console specifically, Thomson stated, because "the Xbox presents an excellent opportunity for us to get our state-of-the-art engine, code, and cool gameplay into the hands of gamers hungry for innovative, new, quality games." He also expressed excitement about the format and its ability to handle the hefty technological demands of Warrior Kings.

　　"The beautiful 3D engine used in Warrior Kings provides a superb environment in which to enjoy the title for its gameplay, glorious artwork, and easy-to-use interface," Thomson continued. "The Xbox, due to its powerful technical configuration, is a great platform for us to showcase that technology. We believe that the PS2 will also be a suitable platform for Warrior Kings."

　　Thomson went on to briefly describe the premise and gameplay behind Warrior Kings. "Warrior Kings is a fully 3D, real-time strategy game set in a medieval environment with a fantasy element inspired by the folktales and myths of the real middle ages," Thomson said. "In other words, we do not use lame, sub-Tolkien, thrashed-to-death orcs, goblins, and dwarves!"

　　Black Cactus could not disclose which specific publishers are interested in bringing the game to the Xbox, but it did reveal that the PS2 negotiations are currently ongoing.
