Bizarre Creations' Dreamcast racer, Metropolis, has undergone a name change. The game will now be known as Metropolis Street Racer, which is more attuned to the game's theme - racing through real-life cities. While the game is still early, it is expected to be a launch game for the system in Europe, with a US and Japanese release sometime this fall.
There will be two modes of play in the game - arcade and gang battle mode, where you challenge area gangs to races, tune your car, and work toward an ultimate goal - winning. Players can choose from eleven licensed cars from different manufacturers, including Ford, Toyota, Peugeot, Renault, Mazda, Honda, and Mitsubishi.
Maps cover Shibuya in Tokyo, Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, and Trafalgar Square in London. Each of the nine game locations cover approximately 1.5 to 2 square miles of city, down to details like street lamps and phone boxes!
