In attempting to determine the price structure of its upcoming Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network remake of the classic Bionic Commando 2D platformer, Capcom posed a simple question to its community: Would you rather pay $10 or $15? Unsurprisingly, the community answered with a resounding, "Cheaper, please!" Following the will of 83 percent of survey participants, Capcom has priced Bionic Commando Rearmed at $10 for when it debuts on Microsoft's and Sony's online distribution services in the coming months.

　　With Capcom's Ben Judd saying "human nature dictates that people will choose the cheaper of two prices," the producer noted on BCR's official Web site that the real impetus behind offering gamers the choice was to see whether people would be willing to pay for a higher-quality 2D game. According to Judd, what was most surprising about the poll wasn't that 83 percent of respondents wanted the cheaper price, but "the huge number of user comments that we received, where a majority were suggesting they would pay $15 or even $20 for the game."

　　Continuing, Judd said, "Since the title will have to do quite well at that price point to break even, I guess we have to roll the dice and see where they land... I'd rather fail having created the best game I could, even if the end result doesn't justify 2D games like this in the future."

　　As revealed last week, Capcom convinced Microsoft to ease up on its 150MB XBLA file-size restriction in favor of delivering "complete feature and graphical parity" with the unrestricted PSN version. A PC version of the game is expected later this year.
