Binding of Isaac eyeing Sony platforms - Report
Binding of Isaac eyeing Sony platforms - Report-January 2024
Jan 13, 2025 6:57 AM

After Nintendo said it wouldn't allow The Binding of Isaac on the 3DS, Super Meat Boy designer Edmund McMillen is considering taking his religiously charged downloadable game to Sony's platforms. The Binding of Isaac could come to Sony systems, according to McMillen.

Speaking to Joystiq, McMillen said he is exploring the possibility of bringing The Binding of Isaac to "1-2" Sony platforms. Sony's major platforms are the PlayStation 3, PSP, and PlayStation Vita.

In addition, McMillen offered an update concerning yesterday's news that Nintendo had prohibited The Binding of Isaac from being released for the Nintendo 3DS based on "questionable religious content."

Writing on Twitter, McMillen said, "FYI everyone, we are not at all on bad terms with Nintendo. It's their platform their rules, this wont effect [sic] any future games with them!"

In The Binding of Isaac, players control a child who must escape the clutches of his mother. She is out to kill him after the voice of God commands a sacrifice. The PC and Mac downloadable game has sold close to 450,000 units to date.
