　　The homestory cup inspired Dota 2 tournament "The Summit" from Beyond The Summit is due to make a comeback with their second season set to kick off later this week featuring a base prize pool of $100,000 with a total of six teams from around the world competing in the LAN finals at their LA based studio.

　　The defending champions Evil Geniuses have received a direct invite to the event and the final five spots will be determined through the main online portrait of The Summit EU/America/SEA and China along with a new "Team Redemption" slot which will see Compendium owners vote on the team they would like to see take the final spot for the LAN finals.

　　The LAN finals will run later this year from the 3rd of December to the 7th of December.

　　"The Summit 2 is the intensely anticipated and ever "so smart" sequel to our first LAN event held in June 2014. A low key intimate affair hosted out of a private home in the Greater Los Angeles area, the event will be broadcast in 5 languages by the world's largest Dota 2 studios. Nearly 5 million unique viewers tuned in to enjoy the original event, and The Summit 2 is expected to once again reach millions of Dota fans around the world.

　　The Summit 2 is designed as a "behind-the-scenes" style tournament. When players aren't actively competing, they will enjoy a much more active role in the broadcast than what is normally seen at a traditional live event. Ultimately, The Summit 2 is designed to give players a platform to connect more directly with fans and to share the personalities, insight and humor behind the names."

The Summit Qualifiers

The first stage of the event will see three regional qualifiers taking place in order to decide the final slots for the main online portion of the Summit EU/America and China stages.

Eight teams, single elimination, all matches Best of Three.Top two advance to The Summit EU.

America Qualifier

Ten teams, single elimination, all matches Best of Three.Top two advance to The Summit America.

China Qualifier

Five teams, Round Robin Best of One. 1st place after group stage qualifies to The Summit China.Single Elimination playoffs with the four remaining teams, the winner qualifies The Summit China.

Main Online Portion (All Regions)

The main online portion of The Summit 2 will consist of The Summit EU/America/SEA and China featuring a Best of One Round Robin format with the top four teams entering into a Double Elimination Playoffs.

　　All the matches in the Double Elimination Playoffs will be Best of Three along with a Best of Five Grand Finals with no winner's advantage.

　　The Summit Europe will run from October 6th - November 6th.The Summit America will run from October 3rd - November 16th.The Summit China will run from October 6th - October 21st.The Summit SEA will run from October 9th - November 9th.

The Crowdfunding

As well as the base prize pool of $100,000 The Summit 2 will also feature a range of goodies starting off with the initial Compendium Bundle which includes a Duskie the Husky courier (plus alternative style), a Duskie the Husky loading screen and a Dota TV ticket for over 300 matches. They will also be providing full travel support for all players estimated at a cost of $50,000.

　　The Compendium will feature a range of stretch goals to unlock new rewards as the prize pool increases. 25% from all The Summit 2 Compendium sales will go directly to the prize pool.

Treasure of the Summit's Peak

As well as the Compendium Beyond The Summit will also be introducing the new Treasure of the Summit's Peak, a treasure chest made specifically for The Summit 2 featuring a total of six new item sets with two of those being additional bonus rare drops.
