Better Call Saul: Bob Odenkirk Teases "Supremely Intense" Final Season
Better Call Saul: Bob Odenkirk Teases "Supremely Intense" Final Season-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 6:36 AM

A sixth and final season of the Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul is in the works, and now series star Bob Odenkirk has offered a tease about what to expect.

Speaking to Deadline regarding his latest Golden Globe nominations for the show, Odenkirk said he's excited for fans to see how it all comes to a close for what will be a "supremely intense" final season.

"I can't wait for the fireworks, really," he said. "Our show is a bit of a slow burn over the past few years, and [showrunners Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould] build up. There’s certainly exciting moments throughout, but towards the end, it gets super supremely intense."

That's not much to go on, but given the dramatic scenes of the show so far, it's a bold statement about how it's all going to end. The good news for fans of the show is that Season 6 will have 13 episodes, which is more than previous seasons.

Filming on the final season is expected to begin in March. The season itself was scheduled to debut in 2021, but that may no longer be the case due to issues related to COVID-19 that impacted the schedule.

Odenkirk is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama for his role on Better Call Saul. He's going up against Jason Bateman (Ozark), Josh O'Connor (The Crown), Al Pacino (Hunters), and Matthew Rhys (Perry Mason).

In addition to Better Call Saul, Odenkirk will be seen in the new Universal movie Nobody from the producers of John Wick--the first trailer premiered at the Super Bowl.
