During Bethesda’s own E3 event, the developer announced a Fallout 4 VR experience.
According to Bethesda, the plan is to release Fallout 4 in VR within the next 12 months.
“Since we first showed off modern VR with DOOM 3 BFG at E3 2012, we have dedicated ourselves to the technology, constantly pushing ourselves forward,” said Bethesda VP of Marketing & PR Pete Hines.
“We think that VR is the perfect fit for truly immersive games like our massive open-world RPGs,” Hines added. At BE3 Plus, attendees were given a taste of what’s to come, exploring the world of Fallout 4, using the game’s Pip-Boy and interacting with Dogmeat – all in full virtual reality. “If you thought Survival Mode was an intense Fallout experience… you ain’t seen nothing yet,” Hines continued.
Fallout 4 was released back in November of last year, and has been selling extremely well. The game’s largest expansion to date, Far Harbor, was released last month. More DLC will be released by Bethesda, but the contents haven’t been detailed yet.
