Battlefield V Won’t Feature Spawn Protection; UI, Gameplay Changes From Open Beta Detailed-October 2024
Oct 18, 2024 1:17 AM

The Battlefield V open beta is now in full swing, and the development team has been gathering feedback that will help them improve on the game in time for launch.

A few hours ago, Multiplayer Producer David Sirland addressed one of the biggest issues found in the Battlefield V open beta, Spawn Protection. According to the developer, it will be going away fully in the final game, with only a small exception for the very first spawn.

Yes,we won't have any spawn protection except for during the very spawn in to stop weird things happening in transit (player is invisible and cant move)

David Sirland also confirmed some UI changes for the final game, revealing that the final game will sport an interface which will adapt to the brightness, preventing some of the issues found in the beta.

Already done that internally, UI now adapts to brightness! It's pretty cool

Some gameplay changes regarding ammo have also been detailed.

We looking to do +1 start mag, +1 max mag. Also will spawn with 1 health bag, and we'll pre-build supply depots only on HQ and adjacent flags (build them on center flags manually)

Support does have unlimited ammo in open beta too?

Parrot cam will also be fixed, as the current issues in the beta are due to the lack of high-frequency updates.

It will be. Beta hasn't gotten high frequency updates on parroted player - causes stutters at latency/jitters on the network

Battlefield V launches on November 20th on PC and consoles. The game was originally scheduled for an October 19th release but was eventually delayed to make some core adjustments to the core gameplay.

We believe we have one of the best Battlefield games ever on our hands. A game that will deliver on an emotional journey through the return of unseen single player War Stories, a deep multiplayer experience, Battle Royale, along with our new live service, Tides of War – a journey across multiple theaters of WW2 and designed to keep our community together.

With the Open Beta just around the corner, we are excited about the millions of you who will join us and experience the game. And we fully expect to see even more feedback coming our way.

And that’s why we’re moving our launch date. We’re going to take the time to continue to make some final adjustments to core gameplay, and to ensure we really deliver on the potential of Tides of War.
