Battlefield 1, the new entry of the series currently in development by DICE for PC and consoles, is one of the titles that will come with PlayStation 4 Pro specific enhancements, as confirmed last week. It seems like, however, that even Xbox One S owners will be able to enjoy some additional features.
According to James Shields, who works with Xbox accessories marketing, Battlefield 1 will support HDR on Xbox One, with an online update enabling the functionality. The information apparently comes from "reading the small print" from the public Xbox video from this morning. While unspecified, it's pretty much assured that HDR support is only coming to Xbox One S, as the original Xbox One doesn't support it.
Battlefield 1 HDR support on Xbox One S definitely makes a lot of sense, considering that new themed bundles have been confirmed today. Microsoft, however, has yet to say anything about all this, so we must take everything with a grain of salt until an official confirmation comes in.
Last week, the Battlefield 1 open beta has officially ended, after going strong for a few days. The beta featured a single map, the Sinai Desert map, a map offering a diverse gameplay experience, and no other map has been added before the end of the testing. Several different weapons and items were also available, and all of them have been unlocked on the final day of the open beta.
Battlefield 1 launches next month in all regions on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
