Battlefield 1, the new entry of the series created by DICE launching later this year on consoles and PC, is looking better with each new reveal, and last week's EA Play conference made fans of the series even more excited for the new shooter set during World War I. Those attending the EA Play events in Los Angeles and London last week already managed to get a taste of the game, and it seems like more will be able to do so soon.

　　According to a Battlefield 1 GameSpot preview, a closed alpha is going to be held sometime this week, featuring some of the maps and content that has already been revealed. No confirmation is in at the moment, but we will definitely hear more about the matter pretty soon if this closed alpha is indeed coming this week.

　　On a related note, plenty of new Battlefield 1 footage has been emerging online in the past few hours. GameInformer recently shared a new short gameplay video on its official YouTube channel, while Hazard Clan is currently streaming 64 players gameplay. 　　Following the EA Play event, some additional Battlefield 1 details have emerged online, including a screenshot showcasing the Customization menu. More details on future DLC packs has also emerged, with DICE confirming that the French army, which will appear during the game's campaign, will be one of the main focus of future expansions. Considering how big the role of the French army was during World War I, it was definitely weird to not see it in the multiplayer footage released so far.
