While the largely negative critical reaction for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has become a big story in its own right, the cast and crew have done their best to put a brave face on it. Apart from Jeremy Irons that is. The veteran British star was interviewed recently and had a few things to say about what he thought of the movie.

　　Irons, who plays Bruce Wayne's trusty butler Alfred, spoke to the Daily Mail and was quick to agree when the film's bad reviews were mentioned. "Deservedly so," he admitted. "I mean it took £800 million, so the kicking didn't matter but it was sort of overstuffed. It was very muddled. I think the next one will be simpler. The script is certainly a lot smaller, it's more linear."

　　Irons will next appear in Justice League Part One, which is currently in production. The film is directed by Dawn of Justice's Zack Snyder, and will see Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot return to their roles of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

　　Irons also mentioned the fact that he will appear in the standalone Batman film, and indicates that it will be titled The Batman. "I'm tied into The Batman at the minute," he said. "Which is nice because it's a bit of income. Not that I need a bit of income but it's nice to keep ticking over."

　　Geoff Johns, the joint-head of the newly formed DC Films, last week revealed that he was working on the Batman movie. This follows the confirmation in April from Warner CEO Kevin Tsujihara that the film was in development. It has been rumoured that Affleck will also write and direct the film, and earlier this month BMD reported that Affleck was keen to make "the ultimate Batman story," featuring a host of cameos and villainous characters from the world of the Caped Crusader.
