The controversial Taiwanese horror game Devotion, which was unceremoniously removed from Steam for seemingly mocking Chinese president Xi Jinping, is making a comeback with a physical PC release. Unfortunately, developer Red Candle Games has not clarified whether the re-release will hit the West or not.
The game is available for pre-order from June 8-15; it's unclear if the listing will be removed once the date lapses. There are two versions of Devotion available to purchase, with one retailing for 1200 yuan (approximately $40 USD) and the other running for 980 yuan (about $33 USD). Pre-ordering it nets you a bunch of goodies, including a children's book, bookmark, stickers, and more. And opting for the more expensive edition packs the game's official CD soundtrack into the bundle.

Despite possibly never seeing the light of day in the West for the time being, the first-person horror game found a new home at the Harvard-Yenching Library in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where it is being preserved. It might be possible to import the Taiwanese physical PC version that's currently up for pre-order.
We scored the game a 9/10 in our Devotion review, saying, "Devotion doesn't quite match the anxiety-inducing frights that permeate each cautious step forward in games like P.T. and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but its domestic terror burrows deep inside your psyche long after the final credits have rolled." We also had the opportunity to talk to Red Candle Games about Devotion's abrupt removal and the studio's next project.
