When Nintendo releases a big game, it usually takes its place on the VSDA's VidTrac rental charts right away. That's the case this week again with Rare's Banjo-Kazooie. Rare's dynamic duo nabbed the top slot this week, one of three Nintendo-distributed titles in the top five this week. Midway's Mortal Kombat 4 came in second, GoldenEye 007 holds steady at number three, THQ's Quest 64 at number four, and MLB Starring Ken Griffey Jr. at number five.
How long will Banjo-Kazooie stay in the top slot? It's anybody's guess, but GoldenEye 007 could creep back to the top if releases are slow for the N64 this summer. If you're interested, here are the rental numbers (rank, platform, weeks in release, revenues) for the Video Software Dealer's Association VidTrac for the week ended July 12.1.
