Bandai said today that it will release a Tamagotchi title for Nintendo's 64-bit system. A Bandai spokesman told the Reuters news service that the decision was made to release a software version of the game because the Game Boy version has sold so well in Japan.
The price and release date for the N64 Tamagotchi game has not been decided yet, according to the spokesman. The initial 450,000-unit shipment of the Game Boy title sold out within days of its launch and Bandai expects the title to reach one million by the end of August.
