　　What we heard: In a move that surprised absolutely no one, Activision Blizzard late last year confirmed that a fourth game in the increasingly popular Guitar Hero franchise was indeed on the way, but gave no timelines as to when wannabe rockers could expect it. But it seems British band the Answer may have inadvertedly let the date slip.

　　A press release from the band says that one of their songs, "It's Never Too Late," will be one of the tracks featured in Guitar Hero IV, which according to the release is due at the end of 2008. The band apparently won the chance to be on Guitar Hero IV at this year's MIDEM 08 music trade conference, where Activision held an "open listening session to pick one track to go on the next Guitar Hero game."

　　The official story: An Activision Australia spokesman said that the company "would not comment on rumour or speculation."

　　Bogus or not bogus?: Not bogus that Guitar Hero IV is on the way, and probably not bogus that the Answer will be on said game. As for the late-2008 release date, Guitar Hero has certainly become one of Activision's biggest franchises, so having the next game in the series out this year is more than likely.
