How to Find Protection From the Shadow Curse in Baldur's Gate 3
The Baldur's Gate 3 Shadow Curse is an important mechanic during the game's second act. Once you're on your way to Moonrise Towers, you'll realize that the zone, the aptly named Shadow-Cursed Lands, causes a nasty effect to those who wander off.
Basically, if you stay too long in darker areas, your characters will quickly lose HP. The only exception, in some ways, is Shadowheart, as she's a follower of Shar. The rest, however, will die if you're not careful. As such, we list down the methods to find protection from the Shadow Curse in Baldur's Gate 3.
The Drider Kar'niss carries a Moonlantern. You have to stay within its aura if you want to keep yourself alive.
Torches
If you have a torch, equip it as a weapon to light the way. However, this will only work in areas that are closer to the entrance sections. Delve further into the region, and torches will be completely useless.
Isobel's Blessing of Selune
Upon arriving at Last Light Inn, you'll meet Jaheira. She also introduces you to Isobel, the Cleric who's put up a defensive barrier over the abode. This leads to a battle when agents of the Absolute decide to invade. Keep in mind that Isobel's survival is of tantamount importance. Her death will mean the destruction of Last Light Inn, as well as the demise of many of its inhabitants. Some will cause you to fail quests because there's no way to complete them anymore.
Isobel must survive or a lot of people will die.
Moonlanterns
Moonlanterns, similar to torches, need to be equipped. The difference is that they'll completely negate the effects of the Shadow Curse. Kar'niss the Drider carries one, and you can either side with him or fight him depending on your choices. Later, if you can manage to infiltrate Moonrise Towers, you'll find another Moonlantern in Balthazar's room.

Pixie's Blessing
The best way to protect yourself from the Baldur's Gate 3 Shadow Curse is via the Pixie's Blessing. This is given to you by, you guessed it, a pixie. In our case, we found one by taking the Underdark/Grymforge route to the Shadow-Cursed Lands. Then, we joined up with the Harpers to ambush Kar'niss. Once he's dead, we picked up the Moonlantern, which triggered a dialogue sequence with the pixie. We chose to free her in exchange for her help.
Freeing the pixie and asking for her help grants you a permanent blessing. You won't have to worry about debilitating effects ever again.
The Pixie's Blessing is permanent while you're in the region, and you won't even need to equip a gear piece just to activate it. This means you're free to explore all the areas without any hassles.
In any case, these are the ways for you to find protection from the Shadow Curse in Baldur's Gate 3. Next up, you might want to visit the Gauntlet of Shar.
