Now that the crew that built Activision's strategy title, Dark Reign: The Future of War (and the game's first add-on pack Dark Reign, Rise of the Shadowhand), has broken from Activision and become Pandemic Studios, third-party developer Aztech New Media has been called in to develop the title's second add-on pack.

　　The Dark Reign Expansion pack, which currently has no working name, will include 20 new campaign missions comprising 50 new levels - along with some new game features. Activision built the first add-on pack for Dark Reign, Rise of the Shadowhand.

　　"Activision's Dark Reign has sold more than 650,000 games worldwide and is a major hit," said Christopher Seepe, Aztech's CEO. "It's been demonstrated over and over again that players will stay with a successful game after completing the original missions and desire to explore further dimensions of the game. A conservative estimate is that at least 20 percent of core game players will purchase add-on and expansion products."

　　One part of the agreement between the two companies allows Activision to purchase the pack from Aztech for distribution outside North America. The pack is set to release in North America this fall.
