Published by DC ComicsWritten by Tom KingArt by David FinchWith Detective Comics' release last week, fans seem to be very excited about the direction Batman is headed, and now writer Tom King and artist David Finch are taking over Batman. The book is kicking off with a story about new heroes coming to Gotham to be its savior. How is Batman going to deal with other people wanting to save the city and how soon before they butt heads?
Published by DC ComicsWritten by Sam HumphriesArt by Robson RochaThis new Green Lantern series will follow Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz, two rookie Green Lanterns. It's been quite some time since the series has followed someone new to the job. There's a lot for these characters to learn about the job. We're excited to see what Sam Humphries and Robson Rocha have in store for readers.
Published by Image ComicsWritten by Chris DingessArt by Matthew RobertsLast month, we got our first look at the new Manifest Destiny story, featuring Sasquatch. It seems to be a much slower build than any previous story in the series, which is great. The book has a slower pace, building a lot more tension for the reader, as they await Bigfoot to make his debut. This is easily the most underrated book at Image Comics.
Published by Marvel ComicsWritten by Brian Michael BendisArt by David MarquezThe first issue left the Marvel Universe shocked as one, possibly two, heroes met their demise. Marvel's summer event is kicking to high-gear now. It's obvious that lives are on the line, and it all revolves around a new super-powered Inhuman named Ulysses. Why is he so important, and why does he make heroes battle heroes? We'll find out more in this newest issue.
Published by Marvel ComicsWritten by Marjorie LiuArt by Mark BrooksMarvel has done some wonderful things with the Star Wars franchise. The comics have the look and feel of the films but get to tell stories that can be too large for the big screen. Now, Han Solo is finally getting his own book. Solo is working on a top-secret mission for the Rebellion. This five-issue miniseries has a stellar creative team behind it, so this is a book to check out.
Published by Marvel ComicsWritten by Christopher HastingsArt by Langdon FossIf gigantic Marvel events aren't up your thing, Vote Loki may be up your alley. Thor's greatest nemesis is running for President of the United States. It's over-the-top, but it sounds like a fun and entertaining read. Writer Christopher Hastings is known for his more humorous writing, and that's just what a title like this needs.
Published by ValiantWritten by Rafer RobertsArt by David LaFuenteValiant has a hit on their hands with the newest Archer & Armstrong series. The book is silly and delves into A&A lore in a humorous way. The highlight of the new series has been the new character Davey the Mackerel and this issue is going to explain a little bit more on just who this character is. If you're looking for something a bit different than what Marvel and DC typically offers, you can't go wrong with this book.
