Microsoft announced this morning that it's newest sports game, Baseball 2001, is now on store shelves. The game marries the code of Infinite Monkey System's Baseball Mogul with a modern-day interface and graphics. The game is foremost a managerial simulator, placing players in the role of an MLB club manager, but it still has the arcade-style baseball action that attracts most casual gamers.
"Baseball 2001 is an improvement on an already impressive game, adding the depth of Baseball Mogul to crisp graphics and solid gameplay," said Ed Fries, general manager of Microsoft's games group. "We think this game will appeal to both the casual gamer, with on-field arcade-style action, and the baseball aficionado, with realistic front-office simulation."
Baseball 2001 is available now for US$29.99.
