The PlayStation Vita is set to launch in its native Japan later this year, with an Aussie release scheduled for earlier next year on February 22. In Australia, the 3G version of Sony's newest handheld will retail for A$449.95, while the cheaper Wi-Fi-only model will be available for A$349.95.

　　While Australian retailers have been taking preorders on the PlayStation Vita for a while now, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has just announced a set of official preorder incentives. If you opt to preorder the console at EB Games, GAME, or JB Hi-Fi, you'll be entitled to a special PlayStation Vita preorder gift pack. The pack includes a pair of metallic-blue in-ear headphones, early access to the Frobisher Says! app, an exclusive PS Vita avatar, items for PlayStation Home, and an A$8 discount coupon. The coupon can be used to get a discount on one of the following PlayStation Network games: Little Deviants, Super Stardust Delta, Hustle Kings, and Escape Plan.

　　A Sony Computer Entertainment Australia spokesperson confirmed to GameSpot AU that the PlayStation Vita preorder gift pack will be available on a "while stocks last" basis.
