Australian gamers have raised $550,000 for the Starlight Children's Foundation.

　　The money was raised during Starlight Week 2013, which took place in 400 EB Games retail stores across Australia from April 29 to May 5.

　　The week included in-store competitions, a 25 hour gaming challenge at the Swanson Street store, and the collection of donations. All efforts went towards a $1.5 million goal for Starlight Day 2013.

　　EB Games has partnered with the Starlight Children's Foundation in the past, donating gaming consoles to the charity. Starlight CEO Louise Baxter was pleased with the outcome of the event.

　　"EB Games are a wonderful partner of Starlight. The synergy is perfect--games are a vital part of the essential distraction that Starlight provides to seriously ill children in our Starlight Express Rooms," Baxter said.

　　Gamers who missed out on the event can still donate to the cause via the Starlight and EB Games website.
