Aussie emulation mash-up 6/03/09-September 2024
Sep 22, 2024 7:35 AM

It's been fairly quiet over the past seven days on all three of the virtual shopfronts, but thankfully there's been more than enough downloadable content for games that are already out to make up for it!

The only game to come out this week on both the PlayStation Network Store and Xbox Live Arcade was Watchmen: The End is Nigh. Coinciding with the film's release, this is the first episode of a six-piece series, offering both Night Owl and Rorschach as playable characters, set prior to the movie. In this episode you'll follow Nite Owl and Rorschach as they foil a prision riot. The full game is available now for 1600 Microsoft points on Xbox Live Arcade or A$23.95 ($15.38 ) on the PSN--no date has been announced on when the second episode is due to land.

Similar to the full-priced games, a lot of the downloadable content that went up this week was in-sync on both the PSN Store and Xbox Market Place. For a full list of all the DLC to come out on both stores this week, check out the list below.

Prince of Persia Epilogue A$15.95/800 MS pointsBurnout Paradise Toy Cars Collection A$15.95/1000 MS Points or A$2.45/160 MS Points eachRock Band: Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughan A$17.95 ($11.52)/ 1280 MS Points for the full album or A$2.45/160 MS points per songRock Band: New By No Doubt A$2.45/160 MS pointsGuitar Hero World Tour: Euro Track Pack 3 (includes Break it Out by Vanilla Sky, C'est Comme Ca by Rita Mitsuko and The Rasmus' In the Shadows) for A$9.25 ($5.54)/ 440 MS Points or A$3.45 ($2.11)/160 MS points eachSkate 2 Throw-back pack for freeStreet Fighter IV Femme Fatale Pack A$6.95($4.46)/320 MS Points

PSN Store-exclusive content includes the Classics Skin pack for Lumines Supernova ($6.95), which adds in the skins from the original PSP game, and two new bowlers for High Velocity Bowling (A$1.75 ($1.12) each).

Both Clu Clu Land and Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair went up on Nintendo's Virtual Console this week. Clu Clu Land is a simple seek-and-find game in a similar vein to Pac Man, only you play as a fish who searches the map for gold bars, instead of pac dots. Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair, on the other hand, is a platformer in which you play as a boy named Leo who must race against the clock to save the town of Xenobia from monsters. If you've got a friend and a spare controller hanging around, you can also play two-player co-op in which the second player takes on the pink-haired Priscilla. Both titles are up on the Virtual Console storefront now for 500 and 800 Nintendo points respectively.

Rorschach from Watchmen: The End is Nigh disposes an enemy.
