ATI Technologies, the producer of the Rage 128 and Radeon 3D graphics lines, has announced a net loss of US$45.2 million for the quarter ending August 31. The loss is less than that of the previous quarter, and the company declared a $64.6 million profit for the 2000 fiscal year ending in August. Much of ATI's business is in selling graphics chips, such as the Rage 128 Pro and the Rage Mobility, to makers of notebooks and value-priced desktops. However, ATI says the most recent quarter's results start to show the positive results of the company's first product introduction specifically aimed at the high-end of the PC 3D market, the Radeon.
