Assassin’s Creed Origins Teases the Birth of The Brotherhood in A Deadly New Trailer
Assassin’s Creed Origins Teases the Birth of The Brotherhood in A Deadly New Trailer-October 2024
Oct 18, 2024 6:17 PM

Since revealing Assassin’s Creed Origins at E3 2017, Ubisoft has been eager to talk about the game’s massive open-world recreation of Ancient Egypt, revamped combat, and other new features, but we haven’t heard as much about the whole “Origins” angle. The game is supposed to show us how the millennia-spanning rivalry between the Assassins and Templars began, which is a pretty big deal! So, what’s with the lack of info?

Thankfully, Ubisoft provides a few more details about Assassin’s Creed Origins’ story in their new Birth of the Brotherhood trailer. Specific plot points are still a bit murky, but the trailer traces protagonist Bayek’s journey as he goes from a Medjay (a scout and protector of the Pharaoh) to something more. By the end of the trailer, we hear Bayek utter the word “Assassin,” and deploy one of the Brotherhood’s iconic wrist blades for the first time. Check out the trailer, below.

While we’re at it, Ubisoft has also released a fresh look at how stealth will work in Assassin’s Creed Origins. The Assassin’s Creed series has focused on stealth from the beginning, but it hasn’t always given players the tools to make sneaking up on enemies a smooth, enjoyable experience. Thankfully, that’s about to change. In Assassin’s Creed Origins, stealth is now distance based, allowing you to divide and conquer more effectively. You’ll also have a wealth of new tools at your disposal, like the Predator Bow, which lets you steer your arrow mid-flight. You can even train animals to dispose of enemies, Far Cry-style!

It definitely looks like Assassin’s Creed Origins has benefitted greatly from its extra year of development time. Hopefully the game can combine its new mechanics and origin story into a satisfying whole.

Assassin’s Creed Origins sneaks on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on October 27. Check out the newly released PC system requirements to make sure you're all set.
