ASCII Entertainment announced on Tuesday that a new subsidiary, AGETEC Inc. (that's "age tech"), will handle the company's video game publishing business beginning March 1. AGETEC will handle US and European (through AGETEC Europe) operations, continuing the company's software and accessory markets for video games.
AGETEC will release R-Types, Echo Night, Shadow Tower, Clock Tower II: The Struggle Within, Fighter Maker, and Rising Zan for the PlayStation in 1999, with N64 releases including AirBoardin' USA. New controllers will include the ASCII Wireless Pad for the PlayStation and the ASCII Pad 64 for the N64.
