ASC games announced on Wednesday that it has signed Jeff Gordon, NASCAR Winston Cup Superstar and current points leader, to help co-design and co-produce a video game racing series.
Under the agreement, ASC Games will publish multi-generations of Jeff Gordon racing games across multiple gaming platforms. The first game is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 1998.
"This project is much more than a racing game with a celebrity endorsement. When you combine Jeff's racing expertise with his passion for video games, especially racing games, he becomes much more than just a great name, he becomes a great asset to the development team," David Klein, the president and COO of ASC Games, said in a statement.
"Being in a video game is a great opportunity and a lot of fun, but to actually work directly with ASC Games to co-produce my own video game is a whole new experience that I'm really looking forward to. I have always been a big video game fan and have wanted to do a project like this for a long time," said Jeff Gordon in a statement. "I'm excited about bringing my sport to a generation of video game fans who will soon become the next generation of racing fans."
