Don't expect Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 in another Terminator movie. The actor says he won't be back for any future installments in the franchise, which spans six films at this point.
Schwarzenegger opened up about his career and The Terminator series with The Hollywood Reporter. When he was asked whether the franchise was over, he replied: "The franchise is not done. I'm done. I got the message loud and clear that the world wants to move on with a different theme when it comes to The Terminator."

Now Playing: History Of The Terminator Movies
While he's obviously fond of the franchise, Schwarzenegger also looked back at the films with a critical eye. "The first three movies were great," he said. "Number four [Salvation] I was not in because I was governor. Then five [Genisys] and six [Dark Fate] didn't close the deal as far as I'm concerned. We knew that ahead of time because they were just not well written."
Terminator: Dark Fate was originally planned as a trilogy, but that was scrapped after lackluster box office results for the film. James Cameron, who directed the first two films in the series, has talked about relaunching The Terminator franchise recently. He said he'd "make it much more about the AI side of it than bad robots gone crazy." That said, Cameron has his hands pretty full with three Avatar sequels in the future.
While no movies are in development, there is an unnamed Terminator game on the way referred to as Survival Project from Nacom Studio Milan.
