Armored Core 6 Co-Op Mod in the Works From the Creator of the Popular Elden Ring ‘Seamless Co-Op’ Mod-January 2024
Jan 7, 2025 5:42 PM

An Armored Core 6 co-op mod is currently in the works from the modder that brought you a similar mod for Elden Ring.

Back in April of last year, we reported on the 'Seamless Co-op' modification for Elden Ring from modder 'LukeYui'. This mod allowed players to play Elden Ring co-operatively with friends without restrictions. This mod received a public beta back in May of last year, and following its public release, it has become the most popular mod for FromSoftware's hit title with over 2.6 million downloads via Nexusmods.

Fast forward more than a year, and the creator of this highly popular mod has now confirmed that he's working on a similar mod for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The modder announced the news on YouTube via a freshly released work-in-progress video (thanks VG247). There's no ETA on when the 'seamless co-op' mod for Armored Core 6 will be released, but the modder mentions that it's currently in alpha state. The new video shows off a two-player run of the "Attack the Watchpoint" mission, but the mod will allow for six players to play co-operatively with one player acting as host. The host will choose the mission.

"Enemy scaling is not present in this build but it will be on release", the modder writes. "The host will be able to adjust the difficulty per additional player. All missions are playable in co-op and your party persists between missions meaning you don't have to keep re-connecting."

We've included the new video showing off the alpha version of the mod below:

As said, a release frame for the mod hasn't been provided just yet, but we'll update you as soon as more information about it comes in.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon was released back in August of this year across PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Here's what we wrote about the game in our launch review back then:

"Some of my favorite fights were the AC duels, where juggling two foes at once successfully makes the player AC feel like an invulnerable war hero just before an offscreen railgun shot or charged melee breaks the player’s stability", we wrote. "FromSoftware has made no concessions in scaling the scale and speed of AC combat far above and beyond even the most energetic of Sekiro encounters. Juggling four different weapons, 360 degrees of mobility, and monitoring the stagger gauges of both enemy and player is a lot to manage and may overwhelm the Armored Core novice, but they’ll be graciously rewarded with some of the freshest gameplay in a mecha action title in years."
