Midway has announced that it plans to ship its racing game Arctic Thunder this week for the North American PlayStation 2. The game, which is converted from the arcade original, is a battle-intensive snowmobile racing game in which players can with one of 16 characters. All the characters have their own unique abilities and personalities, which are matched to their own custom snowmobiles.
"Simply put, this game is 100 percent fun,'' said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing at Midway. "It is exhilarating to be able to ride your sled at such dangerously fast speeds and all the while fire off your incredible arsenal of weaponry.''
The Xbox version of the game will be released this December.
