Apocalypse Developer Announced
Apocalypse Developer Announced-October 2024
Oct 23, 2024 12:37 AM

Activision announced Monday that it has signed an agreement with Neversoft Entertainment (best known for its PlayStation port of Shiny's MDK) to develop its "Bruce Willis tries to stop the end of the world from happening" PlayStation title, Apocalypse.

As previously reported by GameSpot News, the project was shifted from an internal development team at Activision to an external group - now known to be Neversoft - several months ago. Quite a few changes have also occurred to the game, which stars the voices and Motion-captured movements of film star Bruce Willis and singer Poe.

Apocalypse's producer, David Stohl, informed GameSpot News that while "still essentially the same game," the company is now leaning towards putting the player into the role of Bruce Willis, instead of having the actor run shotgun as a computer- controlled ally.

Stohl commented that Activision is considering this "to make the game more fun, was cool sometimes, but not all the time."

The game is now planned for a winter release.
