Anthem has had a rocky launch, from middling reviews to bugs. The most severe of these problems has been crashing bugs on PS4, causing the entire system to shut down improperly. PlayStation 4 users have been vocal about the problem, and EA is aware of the issue. In the meantime, though, Sony is offering refunds to at least some affected users.
Variety reports that several users on Reddit claimed they had been given refunds from Sony's support chat. The support center is said to only ask a series of account verification questions, since Sony is already aware of the pervasive crashing issue. Other users claim they were refused a refund, and Sony hasn't issued an official statement offering refunds.

Now Playing: Anthem - Launch Trailer
EA, meanwhile, is in the midst of gathering data about the crashing bug so that it can work on a fix. It has requested that impacted users submit information including your make of console, PSN ID, whether you submitted a crash report through the console itself, and any other details.
"We are currently in process of gathering information about the PS4 issues so we can determine the root cause," the company wrote in a blog post.
This is the latest in a series of mishaps and missteps for Anthem. The VIP demo was buggy itself, reviews were less than stellar, and one update even broke the game. BioWare has laid out a lengthy post-launch roadmap for the coming months, including new missions, guilds, and a large-scale event called a "Catalyst." This is all being positioned as the first act in an ongoing story, so the studio appears to be in it for the long haul.
