Nintendo closed out its most recent indie-focused video presentation with what was perhaps its biggest announcement of the broadcast: The hit deception game Among Us is coming to Switch, and like a few other titles spotlighted during the stream, it's available to purchase right now through the Nintendo eShop.
Although it originally released in 2018, Among Us was one of this year's biggest breakout successes, skyrocketing in popularity on Twitch thanks to its blend of social elements and subterfuge. Nintendo confirmed to GameSpot that the Switch version of Among Us supports cross-play with other platforms, which has been key to its success on PC and iOS/Android.

There was no word on any additional features coming to this versions of the game, although with cross-play, feature parity is to be expected. This version of Among Us costs $5 USD, much like the PC version; on mobile, an ad-supported version can be downloaded for free.
Developer Innersloth had been working on a sequel to Among Us, but the studio recently announced that it would be scrapping that follow-up and instead focusing on supporting the original game with that planned content.

"All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1," the studio wrote in a blog post. "This is probably the more difficult choice because it means going deep into the core code of the game and reworking several parts of it. We have lots of things planned and we're excited to bring new content to everyone as you continue to enjoy playing."
Among Us isn't the only game to surprise launch on Switch this week. The popular action-puzzler Grindstone also released on Nintendo's hybrid system following the Indie World stream, as did the laid-back community sim game Calico.
There were a few other surprise announcements during the presentation. Spelunky and Spelunky 2 are both coming to Nintendo Switch next summer, while Super Meat Boy Forever hits the console this month, on December 23.
