FrictionalGames has today aired a new gameplay trailer for Amnesia: The Bunker. This new trailer will showcase 10 minutes of gameplay that not only shows the horrors that await the future underground explorers but also how the game will make every player's experience different with its dynamic nature. How will you be able to tackle survival if the place you're trying to course changes around you?
You can watch the new gameplay demo for Amnesia: The Bunker below:
Amnesia: The Bunker follows Henri Clement, a soldier left behind and trapped within a military bunker. While there, he has to outrun the monster that lurks within the halls, lurking for its next prey. The game is an open-world sandbox hybrid that takes place in World War I and provides the player with a gun for the first time in the franchise, although it comes with only a single bullet. Player choice is meant to be a pivotal aspect of the title, and the game’s general outcome and events will be ultimately up to the player.
The press release attached to this gameplay demo offers a bit more insight regarding the circumstances around the protagonist with a letter penned by Joubert.
To any who find this -
Fournier, our commanding officer, cowers next to me now. He’s lost his mind to an abyss of fear. He repeats the same refrain over and over. “Flee! Flee! We must flee and seal the beast where it belongs!” He wants to run, to blow up the exit behind him... Sealing the demon down here… The demon AND our men.
His constant refrain, it is getting to me… and that same void of terror… it is also overtaking me. To any of my men who see this: once we’re free of this place, I will get the arsenal code from him. I will get it and I will radio it back to you.
This letter was uncovered alongside the footage that we can see in the gameplay demo, implying that the person witnessing the events in the video is someone other than Henri experiencing these events. The ending of the footage leaves things ambiguous as the person in the footage is left shooting an unknown threat hidden in the shadows.
Amnesia: The Bunker is set to release on May 23 on PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-orders are not currently available for Amnesia: The Bunker, but the game can be added to your wishlist on Steam.
