A few hours ago, publisher THQ Nordic and developer Pieces Software unveiled nearly eight minutes of new gameplay of the upcoming Alone in the Dark reboot.
This is unedited footage, too, showing both playable protagonists: Edward Carnby, portrayed by David Harbour (Stranger Things, Hellboy), and Emily Hartwood, portrayed by Jodie Comer (Free Guy, Killing Eve). Announced in August 2022, the remaining of Alone in the Dark was supposed to launch on October 25, but it was delayed to January 16, 2024 to avoid being smashed by last month's crazy schedule. The proximity to another highly anticipated survival horror game, Remedy's Alan Wake 2, was likely another major factor in the decision.
Players can still check out a free prologue demo on all platforms. Featuring 11-year-old girl Grace Saunders as the playable protagonist, the prologue is meant to provide a glimpse into Derceto Manor, though it is devoid of any combat and the puzzles are purposely very easy.
The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
