Ali Wong To Star In Amazon's Adaptation Of Paper Girls-January 2024
Jan 9, 2025 10:02 AM

Ali Wong will star in the upcoming Paper Girls series adaptation at Amazon, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show will be based on the Brian K. Vaughan-written mystery and sci-fi comic book series about four newspaper delivery girls who find themselves caught up in a conflict between warring factions of time travelers while out making deliveries on the morning after Halloween in 1988. The comic ran from 2015 to 2019.

Wong has been tapped to play "Adult Erin," the woman the show's 12-year-old Erin, played by Riley Lai Nelet, grows up to become. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "when the two Erins finally come face-to-face, they are forced to confront the gap between their childhood hopes, dreams, ambitions, and the reality of their grown-up life." Wong and Nelet star alongside Camryn Jones, Sofia Rosinsky, and Fina Strazza.

The series also joins Vaughan's Y: The Last Man, as a comic series by the writer also getting adapted for TV. Y: The Last Man recently released a new teaser, and is slated for FX on Hulu, one of the many channels included with the streaming service. Previously, Vaughan's Runaways also ran on Hulu.

Wong also has Beef, a new show about a road rage incident with Steven Yeun, in the works for Netflix, plus the thankfully revived Tuca & Bertie coming back for Season 2 at Adult Swim. In the meantime, you can check out what Prime Video has coming to the streaming service throughout the coming month.
