It seems like the wait is finally over. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will be released on Nintendo Switch come April 21. This was revealed during today's Nintendo Direct. The long-awaited remake will see players facing off against several factions and capturing towns to secure victory and keep the peace.
You can watch a new trailer, which also reveals the game compilation's release date below:
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is a game compilation remake made by WayForward in which players command land, air, and naval units across the battlefield. Players are tasked with taking down enemy squads and securing victory. The game will bring a lot of new challenges as the ever-changing terrain and weather will also impact the effectiveness of the units.
The remake features two different campaigns that cover the events of Advance Wars and Advance Wares 2: Black Hole Rising. Players will have to defend their land with the help of Andy, Max, Sami, and other Commanding Officers. Each CO has its own specialties and powers, which can be used to turn the tide of battle in your favor.
Keep in mind, however, that enemy COs can use their own abilities to give themselves an edge. Throughout both campaigns, the COs you meet in Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp will also play a critical role on both the battlefield and in the game's story. Additionally, four players can battle on dozens of maps through the game's Versus Mode. Each player can choose a CO from either campaign and use their powers to bring the battle to a swift end.
Originally Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp was going to be released on April 8, 2022. However, the game was unfortunately delayed due to circumstances surrounding the war between Russia and Ukraine. But now, the game is going to launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch come April 21, 2023.
