To say that the editors here at GameSpot (and VideoGameSpot as well) are already addicted to Quake II is an understatement.

　　From the moment the game arrived, the sacred machines that had Quake II on them had numerous flybys from other editors who would talk about how great the game looked - all this while the friendly editors yelled, booed, cursed and cheered each other on in deathmatch after deathmatch.

　　Our editors have logged so many of the past 36 hours beating on Quake II that we already know many of the ins, outs, enhancements, and bugs in the system.

　　Everything from brilliant level designs, the awesome sound of a BFG10K as the bass box under your desk makes your bladder feel empty, and some shaky server errors, to garbled sound on an Ensoniq sound card, a mouse problem, cool options for using the up or down option on a Microsoft Intellimouse, and just how amazing Quake II looks like on a 3Dfx Voodoo card, has kept our minds and trigger fingers occupied.

　　We're calling all this "work" so you can look at the title - and see just how well (or how horribly) we play. And how we try to find ways to get around the 99-screenshot max under Quake II (the more screenshots the merrier, eh?).

　　So far, the editors here are charmed again.

　　Don't worry if you haven't been lucky in finding an available copy in your local software store or haven't had time to explore Quake II in its full glory (or maybe you're not allowed to blow off work so you can play). Just take a look at some of our shots and our movies - which are not for the weak-hearted.

　　We warn you that it will only make you want to play Quake II even more.

　　One more suggestion: Turn up the volume on your speakers. Way, way up.
